1.the state of being filled to capacity.
Thousands of things go viral on social media every day. Most are totally useless videos and memes, but some strike you and make you really think. I read a story (here) that talked about wishing someone “enough.” No more and no less than what they need to be happy.
“I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.
I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye.”
This one story, got me thinking about the definition of a “full” life and fullness in general, which led me to want to share those thoughts with you.
It’s all too common, especially with my generation, for people to constantly want more. Newer clothes, a better phone, more friends, more money, more space, more time; but when can we truly accept a full life for what it is and experience the feeling of living in fullness. Where the glass isn’t empty, but it’s not overflowing either.
Everyone will of course have their own definition of what full is, just like one person can get full off of a chicken finger when some people need the whole KFC bucket. The truth is though, I think you’ll find when you sit down to think about what will make your life full… you’ll realize you already have it.
Some things that induce fullness? (May vary by user but make me happy all the same)
- Love. Lots and lots of love.
- Movie Night
- A job
- A hobby or passion
- The moon and stars
- The ability to see sunrises and the moon and stars
The list could literally go on and on.
Now I challenge you to find your own list of things that make you feel full, PLEASE share some here, and then try to remind yourself when you’re feeling like you need more of something, that you actually have just enough.
